OK — been using this thing for about five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. Am in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, for context.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an each way return actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the part I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. One thing that really made a difference were the geekier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too if I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. Its layout looks very functional, let’s say — no frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. There’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who honestly adds it up in their head, try it — saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
