Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I could never work out what an ew return would be with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d guess and then be surprised. Now I stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the part I use most — you put in stake and odds and it shows the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, and that’s where most people I know lose track. The thing that genuinely changed how I bet is the more serious extras. There’s an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent for when I’m spreading across selections.
Couple of gripes. The design looks pretty plain — not much flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who even now does the maths on paper, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
