Right — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. Am UK based, mainly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, for context.
How I found it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an ew return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just eyeball it and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — type in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. The thing that actually made a difference were the more serious tools. There’s an implied probability thing which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool is handy too for when I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. Its design looks a bit basic — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s usable though the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who even now adds it up in their head, have a look — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
