Right — been on this thing for maybe four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since someone asked me last week. I’m UK based, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

The reason I started using it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way payout actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d eyeball it and get a shock. These days I stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and you get the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the bigger stuff — trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at trixie bet — free, no signup.

One thing that really changed how I bet were the geekier extras. The probability converter which shows you the overround, plus a kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent for when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The design looks a bit basic — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no app, just the site — fine by me but worth saying.

So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saves me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
